They say that the best environmental condition for trees to bear their blossoms would have to be a tropical climate. Not too humid, not too cold, tropical climate is perfect for the median temperature range that is universally acceptable and healthy for many varieties of trees. In Asia, known for its generally tropical climate, the most beautiful flowering tropical tree varieties can be found. Cherry blossoms and peach trees abound in the countries of Japan and China, for example. Rare flowering fruit trees like mangoes, mangosteens and durians are exclusively grown in the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia.
Importing a flowering tropical tree to the mainland can be quite difficult, though not really impossible. After all, America was able to grow and raise cherry blossoms and peach trees, though a century ago, people never believed the possibility of the same.
The problem is, a flowering tropical tree will only grow in certain areas of the country. Cherry blossoms and peach trees, our previous examples, can only be found in select southern states. The same goes for the much heralded Tropical Royal Poinciana tree, very desirable because of its amazingly beautiful red flowers. This is because southern territories, especially the areas that do not experience snow, greatly simulate the tropical environment of the places of origin of the aforementioned trees.
If you wish to grow and raise your own flowering tropical tree, do keep in mind the following guidelines:
* What you will lack in temperature requirements, you have to make up for with soil quality. Tropical trees are used to soil with good water retention properties and slightly acidic levels, usually 5.5 pH. To achieve this, regular fertilization would be in order. You have to commit yourself to this duty; otherwise, the slightest deterioration of soil quality can potentially become fatal for your tropical tree.
* Usually, tropical trees that are separated from their environments of origin become highly deciduous even if they are not known for such characteristic. Though not a reason for panic, too much of this and if it becomes manifest at such a rapid pace can be telling of severe problems for your tree. Be vigilant.
* Learn how to adjust correspondingly. Though you cannot manipulate the climate, you can manipulate other factors. Your area's too humid? Make sure that your tropical tree receives ample amount of water. Your area's too cold? Make sure that you do not over-water your tropical tree.
There is no bar in growing and raising your own tropical tree, for as long as you undertake the responsibilities associated with the same.
